This form of massage is suitable both for purely personal health care as well as for the benefit of further treatment alongside medication and therapy prescribed by doctors.
This therapy is a form of massage gently conducted using needles to channel the body’s flow of Chi energy in tune with the meridian system; its energy circle. Disruptions in this flow of energy can result from trauma, stress or climatic influences, and can lead to an imbalance in both the physical and mental state, and can therefore be a cause of illness.
The key aim of an APM-Therapy is to discover which meridians are lacking in energy, and to then stimulate them through massage ‘pointers’ and the related acupuncture points, in order to activate a better balance in energy.
The gentle succession of pointers along the meridians (paths of energy) has a stimulating and balancing effect on the body. Skin, muscle membrane and tissue, organs and glands.
As pressure becomes regulated and increasingly balanced, and muscle tone subsequently becomes more regulated, this often has a considerable effect on one’s breathing. Likewise, the intestinal tract can also be affected, aiding the body’s metabolism.
Breathing and digestion are two of the main branches of the sources of energy to be taken care of. Enough oxygen and a good transfer of nutrients in the circulation of the blood benefit the body’s metabolism. This results in increased energy levels and a better circulation of the blood.
Scar Release
Trauma or scars arisen from operations, which are still notably painful after the healing of wounds in any way, particularly due to climate change can cause disruptions in the very fabric of one’s mentality require special attention. From my own experience I know of the importance of getting rid of such scars. As doing so can release a great deal of energy, one ought not to do this immediately at first treatment, but rather only when energy in the meridians is set in motion.
Spinal Treatment
Following energetic preparatory treatment we are now able to focus on the flow of energy around blockages within the Iliosacral joint; large joints as well as smaller spinal joints (out-of-place positions) spinal columns through gentle swing movements and vibrations. This way the joints are used in a central position. This form of loosening the joints whereupon blocked energy can be released, is not like other chiropractictical measures in which a ‘cracking’ sound can arise.
From my experience in a neurology and orthopaedic rehabilitation clinic (Schwarzwaldklinik Bad Krozingen) with people and their various ailments, I can verify that through a series of acupoint treatments, the patient will very often benefit from a noticeably better general condition and wellbeing and lengthened period free of complaints, as is clearly expressed by the affected patient and accepted by the medical profession.
Particular Complaints responding well to APM:
- spine problems
- ISG blockages
- functional differences in leg length
- Complaints of both the large and small joints
- Manifestations of Rheumatism
- Migraine
- High blood pressure
- Allergies
- Asthma
- Neuralgia
- Spasms
- Paresis
- Circulation problems
- Pain<
The WHO-List also lists a variety of other health problems which acupuncture can successfully target.
It is important to understand that this is not based on miracle-working, but rather the supporting of the inner doctor in order to cope as well as possible with a difficult condition. Both patient and therapist equally are required to deal with the condition openly, honestly and realistically.
I consider this form of therapy of foremost value amongst the many reputable forms of therapy that exist. I chose APM as it suited me well personally, strengthened my own ability to observe and provides the individual with a broad form of therapy. I am of the opinion that the effectiveness of any given form of therapy does not depend solely on technique and knowledge, but also on the skill with which one can awake the senses suitably to successfully engage with the treatment.
