Movements with Willi on Alicudi enriched my long-standing practice of Tai Chi and martial arts and hence deepened my body awareness. The seminar acquainted me to experiences, which are difficult to put into words. Certain experiences have helped to structure conceptual limits of my world view more smoothly. This pushed my life forward and enhenced my feelings.
Most importantly Alicudi means to experience nature. During the long training sequences in wind and sun I was able to experience an intensive connection with the elements. Atmospheric pictures of many sunrises and sunsets have been deeply etched in my memory. Cloud formations, concise shapes of stones and rocks, the colors of flowers and vegetation are now vivid pictures in my mind.
Willis work features a constant change of dynamic sequences, holding single positions and sinking into calmer body work. Willi combines his profound knowledge of different internal and external martial arts styles with acupuncture and massage by intuitively addressing every participant individually. Thereby I frequently reached internal and external boundaries and was able to both strengthened my body and will, as well as my ability to feel and to open up myself to the present moment.
The intensive “rotation” with which Willi works – which reminds me of the „Sufipraxis“ – is only partly be described in words. It made me imagine how the world – as a rotational axis – might be perceived through the cosmos. The coexistence of letting go visual focus and keeping connection to the earth, is an essential part of this “rotation” to maintain balance. At the same time the thought process gets interrupted for a few moments and I was able to plunge into moments of simple existence.
